
Mr. Frank R. Ross is a native son of Ohio. He graduated from Cleveland's John Adams High School, where he starred in track & field. Mr. Ross accepted an athletic scholarship to Central State University where he was a member of the "Big Four" mile relay team that was featured on the "Wide World of Sports " in 1966. This # 2 world-ranked team was anchored by Central State's legendary Martin McGrady.
Mr. Ross, a retired guidance counselor, is the concept founder of the first "National African African-American Folk Dance, The Grand March. He is also the best selling author of " The Grand March - The Spirit of African-Americans", published by Publish America of Baltimore, Maryland.
Frank Ross is the author of "Soul Dancing The Essential African-American Cultural Dance Book" Sept 2010. He is the proud father of three daughters - Felicia, Wendy and Janelle & two grandchildren, Dalen and Jillian.
Mr. Ross has traveled the United States and Canada spreading the word about the importance of The Grand March as a powerful mechanism, unifying people of the African Diaspora. He is available for workshops, lectures for schools and other organizations, performances, and family reunions and other social events. Mr Ross is know as the father of African-American Folk Dance.
Mr. Ross has redefined African-American dance from the previous erroneous definition of "Vernacular dance" to the correct definition of "Cultural" under the auspices of The National Dance Association, where he is an awarded African-American dance researcher and best selling author of the "Grandmarch Spirit" and the soon to be released groundbreaking book "Soul Dancing! The Essential African-American Cultural Dance Book" published by the National Dance Association 2010.
